Prostate Tumor

The most common cancer in men (approximately 1 in 7 men are affected), prostate cancer must be diagnosed and treated as early as possible in order to improve recovery outcomes.

The HIFU Method for Treating Prostate Cancer

Treating a Prostate Tumor with HIFU

A prostate tumor can be treated using several medical techniques, including HIFU.
High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) enables deep destruction of the tumor, thereby avoiding surgical intervention.

It should be noted that HIFU technology has proven effective for the majority of treated patients, with survival rates ranging from 92% to 99% up to 10 years after treatment.

Prostate Tumor: What Other Treatments Are Available to Cure Prostate Cancer?

In addition to the HIFU method, other treatments may also be used to cure prostate cancer. External beam radiotherapy is commonly performed, using high-energy rays to destroy cancer cells. A treatment period of up to two months may be required for this prostate cancer treatment to be fully effective.

Other methods used to eliminate a prostate tumor include brachytherapy, curietherapy, and cryotherapy (more information on these approaches is available via the link above).
