A precise, personalized procedure carried out in a single session under robotic guidance.
Step 1
The patient lies on their right side during treatment.
Step 2
The image shows the probe’s position relative to the rectum.
Step 3
The proximity of the prostate to the rectum wall allows for optimal treatment.
Step 4
The probe is now introduced into the rectum up to the level of the prostate. The bladder is situated above and the urethra passes through the prostate.
Step 5
Through the probe, the imaging transducer creates a very precise, three-dimensional computerized reconstruction of the area to be treated.
Step 6
The entire prostate is scanned and reconstructed via the probe’s movements and the computer program.
Step 7
The doctor plans each stage of the treatment on the screen with millimeter accuracy.
Step 8
Finally, the device automatically applies the optimal number of lesions according to the urologist’s plans.
Non-inferiority of HIFU treatment compared with surgery.
In 2024, a published French trial(1) including more than 3300 patients enrolled at 46 sites proved the non-inferiority of HIFU treatment compared with standard surgery, in terms of oncological results at 30 months.
